Qualche mese fa un padre molto geek, di fronte alla richiesta di ben 250 dollari australiani per un pezzo di ricambio del passeggino, ha deciso di mettere a frutto il proprio talento informatico: ha creato un modello digitale tridimensionale del pezzo che si era rotto e lo ha inviato a Shapeways.com per la fabbricazione in acciaio inossidabile tramite stampante 3D. Costo: 25 dollari.
